I do private lessons with Coach Breno Damieri at SFS woodbridge. It is a very well maintained club, good training for high level athletes, and athletes who are just beginning their bjj journey.

My 9 year old son has been attending SFS for over a year now. We cross-train at a few gyms and this is what we find outstanding at SFS, compared to the others:
- Coaches (Miguel, Kevin and Breno) are caring and attentive. They always notice what kids are struggling with and correct or help them immediately.
- Coach to student ratio is excellent, which is probably why they can provide so much individual support to the kiddos.
- Facilities are new, bright and clean.
Other things they do very well include teaching life lessons through jiu jitsu, and fostering a caring and close community. These are just as important, but they are table stakes across the gyms we train at.
IMO, SFS is an excellent gym for any child, whether they want to just want to be active, build discipline, or compete at the highest level! The coaches are supportive of every child on their own journey.

By far the best Jiu Jitsu academy around. My son transferred here 6 months ago and his progress has been tremendous. The coaches at SFS go above and beyond for the students and this club has become like a second family.

SFS Martial Arts has been an incredible experience for my son. The kids’ program is run by caring, professional coaches who are not only skilled in martial arts but truly committed to building confidence, discipline, and respect in every student. The facility is always clean and welcoming, and the sense of community is outstanding. We’ve seen such positive growth in our son since joining, and we highly recommend SFS to any parent looking for a great Jiu Jitsu school for their child

I've trained at top clubs around the world and can honestly say all the green flags when looking at a BJJ club are here:
》Friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable coaches, with very high- level skills.
》Kids are well coached and cared for. The coaches are in it for the benefit of the kids. My kids love coming here and have seen great progress in their development. No wonder the coaches kids train as well!
》Cleanliness is paramount.
》The students, whether adult or kids, are great partners. There's no bullying, over-aggressiveness, or excess machismo. We're a team.
》There's a strong sense of community here and that culture starts at the top with the coaches.
Whether looking for your first club, a spot for your kids to learn some skills and/or discipline, or you're a mature adult with a 9-5 and a need to keep on top of your game, you've found your place!

My daughter started BJJ classes at SFS academy in December 2024. I notice her progress every week. Clean and professional environment with passionate, knowledgeable and super friendly instructors that care about the children and their progress. They know how to deal with the kids with different skill levels and you can tell they love working with kids. My daughter likes the training sessions and the instructors. She made good friends there.

SFS Martial Arts Academy has been an incredible experience for our family. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also genuinely care about each student’s personal growth—on and off the mat. They teach with patience, passion, and respect, creating a space where kids build confidence, discipline, and focus while having fun.
We’ve seen such a positive transformation in our child since joining. The sense of community, encouragement, and dedication at SFS is truly unmatched. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a place where their child can thrive physically and emotionally!

Before coming to SFS my son tried a couple other martial arts schools in the area. He just never managed to feel engaged and lost interest quite quickly. He's coming up on 1.5 years with SFS now and is more engaged and enjoying himself than ever. The coaches are all great, the classes are well structured and strike the right balance between conditioning, technical skills, practical rolling, etiquette/discipline in BJJ all while keeping it fun for the kids. Consistent practice is important so its a good thing if your kid actually enjoys it and doesn't dread going to practice.
As a business, the team at SFS are straight-shooters, fully transparent with no B.S. Its a well-managed business with integrity and the type of business you would want to deal with in all avenues of life.

Great people running a great program. The coaches all really seem to care about the kids and are focused on helping them improve. My son has made so much progress here compared to at his previous academy - I would recommend SFS to anybody out there looking to start or continue their jiujitsu training!

After our son trying out many disciplines, Jiu Jitsu and especially this academy SFS was and is the ONLY one he enjoys coming to. You know that the coaches are doing something right when the motivation comes directly from our son. We never have to battle or force him to get ready for a class. In addition we just have the BEST coaches, so approachable, friendly, knowledgeable, caring, just good old amazing HUMAN BEINGS. The community they have created is unmatched. We love the 1:1 coaching, a place where the my son is also challenged, but now what we love witnessing is he seems to be creating strong friendships.
Highly recommended SFS.

SFS was recommended to us by parents of a student. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a clean and welcoming environment. Each child who walked in was greeted by name and a high five, leading to smiles all around. The program for kids is energetic, fun and most importantly, challenging. Kids are pushed to try and practise. New or experienced, all are working towards individual goals. My child after each class says he had fun and wants to come back. That is a reflection of the dedication of the coaches who are extremely knowledgeable and encouraging.

Love this gym and its coaches. From day one, they have created a space where kids feel included, supported and an active member of a team and a much larger family. This sentiment transcends the kids and extends to the parents, which is amazing. All of their teachings are grounded in collaboration, foundational skills, and repetition that resonate with young kids.
They have effectively created a space where my child looks forward to going to train. Friends he has fun with, and coaches that he loves and respects. He is learning many important life skills, mentally, physically and emotionally at a space where he thrives.
